99s put out call for executive director — General Aviation News

After more than 20 years, The Ninety-Nines, a global organization of women pilots founded in 1929 by aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart and 98 fellow trailblazers, is seeking an executive director to “lead the organization into its next century of empowering women in aviation.”

According to President Robin Hadfield, the need for an executive director is tied to the association’s growth.

“As we have continued to grow in membership it is time to have someone help guide our organization in this role,” she said.

The 99s have nearly 8,000 members and chapters around the world to fulfill the association’s mission of “advancing aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support.”

“This is an incredible opportunity for a leader who shares our passion for aviation and our commitment to empowering women in this field,” said Hadfield. “As we approach our 100th anniversary, we’re excited to find someone who will guide us into the future while honoring our rich history.”

Applications are being accepted through The Moran Company, which is managing the search.

According to Hadfield, officials with The Moran Company will review applications through February 2025 and begin conducting interviews.

“They will present a list of potential candidates to us in March, at which point The Ninety-Nines’ Board of Directors will conduct online interviews with the finalists,” Hadfield said, noting the association hopes to have the new executive director in place by April or May.
