Airbus Helicopters has opened a new distribution center in the Niagara area of Canada to strengthen industrial operations and expand spare parts storage capacity.
The new 21,000 square foot facility will help maintain over 300 jobs in the area, strengthening the company’s leadership in Canada’s aerospace industry, Airbus declared in a statement on May 15, 2025.
This facility will enable the current manufacturing and completions center in Fort Erie to grow its operations.
Airbus anticipates that the Niagara Distribution Centre will improve inventory management and logistics, supporting helicopter completions, component repair and overhaul, advanced composite materials production, and extensive spare parts support.
Moreover, Airbus has said that it is working to enhance its partnerships with many Canadian suppliers and distributors.
“By deepening our roots here, we are not only proactively addressing the evolving demands of the helicopter market but also actively contributing to the economic strength and security of the region,” Dwayne Charette, President of Airbus Helicopters in Canada.
Airbus reports that strong demand for their advanced twin-engine helicopters, particularly the H135, as selected by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Canadian Air Force for the Future Aircrew Training program, is “driving a need for added space for customization and completion activities”.
