Airbus has reported zero commercial aircraft orders for May 2025, with the European aerospace manufacturer publishing its latest monthly update.
While the exact reason is unknown, it could suggest that Airbus is preparing to announce a raft of new orders later this month at the International Paris Air Show.
As well as orders, on June 5, 2025, Airbus also published details about its recent deliveries, indicating that 51 aircraft had been handed over to 32 customers.
In May 2024, Airbus delivered 53 aircraft to 43 customers and in May 2023, the company delivered 63 planes to 36 customers. This represents a 4% fall from May 2024 to May 2025.
Among the significant deliveries last month was Wizz Air receiving its first Airbus A321XLR and the first A321neo joining Kuwait Airways.
Airbus’ deliveries for the year so far total 243 aircraft, some considerable distance away from its delivery target of around 820 commercial jets.
Like Boeing, Airbus continues to struggle with challenges delivering aircraft, primarily due to supply chain disruptions, with engines being a particular pain point.
So far this year Airbus deliveries have been as follows:
January 2025 deliveries: 25 aircraft to 17 customers
February 2025 deliveries: 40 aircraft to 25 customers
March 2025 deliveries: 71 aircraft to 37 customers
April 2025 deliveries: 56 aircraft to 33 customers
May 2025 deliveries: 51 aircraft to 32 customers
