More than 6,900 Alaska Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA), have ratified a new three-year contract.
On February 28, 2025, the airline announced that more than 90% of Alaska flight attendants participated in the vote, and the agreement passed by 95%.
“We are focused on making Alaska Airlines a place for the best people in the business to grow their careers, and this new contract reflects that,” said Ben Minicucci, CEO at Alaska Airlines.
The new contract, effective from March 2, 2025, includes increased pay, such as boarding pay, a newly implemented market rate adjustment and work rules that ensure a 10-hour and 30-minute duty day, which is among the shortest in the industry. The contract also includes enhancements in scheduling and limits on insurance premiums.
Alaska Airlines said that this is the “eighth ratified labor contract between an Alaska Air Group company and one of their represented workgroups in the last three years aimed at improving wages, quality of life, and supporting our company’s long-term success.”
Jeff Peterson, AFA Alaska Master Executive Council (MEC) President, added that the new agreement will set a strong foundation for future negotiations on the Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement related to the merger of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
The previous contract did not expire but became amendable in December 2022.
