Allegiant Air, the Las Vegas-based airline and integrated travel company has begun one of the largest expansion drives in its 27-year history. The carrier will add 44 new nonstop routes plus three new city destinations to its expansive route network in 2025, as the company receives more new aircraft and recruits more employees.
The expansion program will add new routes to Gulf Shores Airport (GUF) in Alabama, Colorado Springs Airport (COS) in Colorado, and Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) in South Carolina. To mark the launch of the program, the airline has begun a fare sale, with seats on the new routes beginning at $39 one-way. The new flights, starting in February 2025, will expand the airline’s network options to 51 cities around the US.
“We’re excited to announce that Allegiant is expanding nationwide, offering even more travel options to our customers,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer. “These additions reflect our ongoing commitment to meet customer demand. By connecting more cities, we’re making it easier for travelers to visit family and friends, access top leisure destinations, and create new memories. Our research shows that customers increasingly want affordability and convenience when they fly. Our low-cost fares and nonstop flights make Allegiant a top choice for leisure travelers.”
According to a statement issued by the carrier, the addition of these new routes marks one of Allegiant’s largest service expansions in its history, which “is driven by robust leisure demand and the company’s commitment to providing ultra-low-cost airfare to underserved communities with limited or no air service. A core aspect of Allegiant’s business model is to provide service during periods with strong leisure demand, such as holidays, summer, weekends, and school breaks.”
In addition to services commencing to the three new airports, the airline is also expanding flight programs from a host of other mainland US airports. These include
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) in Arizona
Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA) in Tennessee
Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) in Florida
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in Florida
Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) in South Carolina
Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) in Michigan
Nashville International Airport (BNA) in Tennessee
Boston-Logan International Airport (BOS) in Massachusetts
Denver International Airport (DEN) in Colorado
Des Moines International Airport (DSM) in Iowa
Portland International Airport (PDX) in Oregon
Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Virginia
Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) in Ohio
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey

Allegiant Air has expanded rapidly since its first flight in 1999 and has carved a niche for itself in the US market where smaller carriers are continuing to struggle to find their place against the large legacy carriers.
According to data from ch-aviation, Allegiant operates a current fleet of 130 aircraft. This includes 35 Airbus A319s, 94 A320s, plus a single Boeing 737 MAX 8-200. The carrier also has a further 25 of the latter on order plus 24 737 MAX 7s due from Boeing in the coming years.
