ABC has renewed five of its unscripted series for the 2025-2026 television season: “American Idol,” “Shark Tank,” “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” “Celebrity Jeopardy!” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”
“American Idol” is renewed for its 24th season overall, and its ninth season on ABC. Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood are the current judges, while Ryan Seacrest is host.
“Shark Tank” is renewed for its 17th season. The series is anchored by investors Barbara Corcoran, Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, Kevin O’Leary and Daniel Lubetzky, with Lubetzky having joined full time during Season 16.
“Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” is renewed for its sixth season. The series is currently hosted by Ken Jennings, who replaced Mayim Bialik beginning in 2023.
“Celebrity Jeopardy!” is renewed for its fourth season. The series is hosted by Pat Sajak and Vanna White, keeping Sajak within the franchise although he stepped down from the flagship “Wheel of Fortune” and was replaced by Seacrest in 2024.
“America’s Funniest Home Videos” is renewed for its 36th season. It is hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro.
The news comes ahead of Disney’s presentation at next week’s upfronts and in addition to the previously announced renewals of “Bachelor in Paradise,” “Celebrity Family Feud,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Golden Bachelor,” “Match Game” and “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.”
“The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” have yet to be renewed, with news of “The Bachelorette” skipping summer 2025 having come earlier this year.
On the scripted side, the fate of “Doctor Odyssey” is yet to be announced, though ABC has greenlit new seasons of “9-1-1,” “Abbott Elementary,” “High Potential,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Rookie,” “Shifting Gears” and “Will Trent” in addition to ordering the new “9-1-1” spinoff “9-1-1: Nashville.”
