American Airlines is to launch a nonstop service to its 30th destination in Mexico, starting in December 2025.
The new service to Puerto Escondido (PXM) will allow the airline to operate more flights to Mexico in 2025 than ever before, American announced in a statement on April 10, 2025.
Flights will begin operations on December 2, 2025, and will be operated twice a week throughout the year from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This will mark the highest number of flights to PXM of any American carrier.
“Puerto Escondido is quickly becoming a top destination for travelers in search of tropical and relaxing getaways, and we are confident that our new service from Dallas-Fort Worth will offer our customers the opportunity to experience a unique part of Mexico,” said José A. Freig, American’s Vice President of International, Contact Center Operations and Service Recovery.
According to the airline, Mexico is the most popular international destination for travel from the US, and American declared that it “continues to grow its network to the country”.
In March 2025, American launched a new service to Tampico (TAM), and from November 2025, the airline will offer a single international service from the state of Oklahoma with new flights to Cancun (CUN).
