Samsung stressed its use of artificial intelligence (AI) in home devices at its keynote show titled ‘AI for All’ at the CES technology fair in Las Vegas on Monday.

The South Korean company announced that its home AI robot, a yellow ball with wheels called Ballie, would be available in the first half of 2025. The price was not revealed.

Ballie was unveiled in 2020 and relaunched in 2024 with AI capabilities and a camera. It can send video updates or project videos to the wall, play music, and answer phone calls.

Samsung stressed how its appliances would all link together at home to work together. One example that was given was after blowdrying your hair, your home AI device would then tell your vacuum to clear the mess after.

Other home devices include an AI refrigerator, which can see what is inside and tell you what ingredients are lacking in case you want to follow a recipe.

There is also a bespoke AI laundry washer and dryer, which includes a seven-inch screen, which can turn on music or make phone calls.

Samsung also announced new PCs, a new Galaxy Book5Pro and Brook5 360, which it called AI PCs, that are powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processes.

Separately, Euronews Next had an early viewing of the screens that Samsung’s business-to-business unit is showing at CES, which included an expandable screen that came out in depth.

Another Samsung exhibit saw robot dogs back flipping, kicking, and dancing on screens to show their durability. There was also a foldable screen on show and flexible screens that were paper-like in quality.

Samsung also showed off a so-called QD-OLED panel that claims to be 30 per cent higher in peak brightness than the QD-OLED panel it showed off last year.
