As sales agency Global Screen prepares to show the first scene from animated feature “The Last Whale Singer” to buyers at a screening at the European Film Market in Berlin on Feb. 13, and Variety has been given exclusive first-look images from the film.
The movie, written and directed by Reza Memari, has already been pre-sold in major territories, including France and French speaking territories (KMBO), Australia (Icon Film Distribution), Portugal (PRIS Audiovisuais), Greece (Rosebud21) and Germany (Little Dreams). Global Screen is aiming to secure the remaining territories during the EFM.
The film follows Vincent, a teenage humpback whale. He is the orphaned son of the last Whale Singer, whose magical song once protected the oceans.

Haunted by the loss of his parents, Vincent doubts his own abilities. When the monstrous Leviathan escapes from a melting iceberg, threatening all marine life with its deadly ink, Vincent must find his own song to stop the threat. But overwhelmed by self-doubt, he instead embarks on a perilous journey into the deep sea to bring his parents back from the mythical Star Pool, hoping his father can defeat the Leviathan in his place.
Joined by Walter, his devoted cleaner fish nanny, and Darya, a brave deaf orca, Vincent must face his fears, accept his loss, and discover his own song to save the oceans.
Memari said that “watching our international team bring Vincent’s world to life has been an incredible experience. This film represents both a deeply personal journey and a chance to inspire real change for marine conservation, while taking families on an exhilarating underwater adventure.”
Maite Woköck, producer and co-CEO of Telescope Animation alongside Memari, said: “Collaborating with Global Screen has been extraordinary, and we’re confident their expertise will help us bring this powerful story about overcoming fear and protecting our oceans to audiences worldwide in 2026.”
