Bill Bellamy and Rocsi Diaz are set to host this year’s “Super Bowl Soulful Celebration” special, which brings together music and NFL tributes through the theme “Keep Going” during Super Bowl LIX week.
Now in its 26th year, the event will be held at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts in New Orleans. The primetime special will air Feb. 8 on Fox and will also be available on Hulu, Tubi, Fox Sports and the Fox Soul streaming platform. Fox will carry the NFL’s championship game on Feb. 9.
“As we celebrate the 26th year of the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration as an official NFL sanctioned event, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the journey that has brought us here,” Melanie Few, the celebration’s founder and executive producer, said. “Returning to New Orleans, a city that embodies resilience, culture, and faith, feels like the perfect way to honor the essence of what this event has always stood for.”
Artists set to appear on the special include Yolanda Adams, Lucky Daye, the Isley Brothers, Tori Kelly, Muni Long, Jonathan McReynolds, Big Freedia, Master P, Trombone Shorty and the NFL Players Choir.
“Hosting the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration is like hitting the trifecta—music, faith, and football all in one show! And, you can’t beat doing it in New Orleans. I’m excited to bring some laughs, some energy, and to be part of this incredible night with an amazing lineup,” Bellamy said.
Michael Strahan, “Good Morning America” co-anchor and former NFL player, will receive the Lifetime of Inspiration Award. The Community Award will go to Cameron Jordan of the New Orleans Saints. Los Angeles Rams player Jared Verse will receive the Rising Star Award.
Leon Knoles is the event’s director and showrunner. Valarie Benning Thompson is executive producer along with Few. Adam Blackstone is the music director for the celebration.
