Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds of a Feather’ Is Spotify’s Top-Streamed in 2024

Billie Eilish kicked off the New Year with yet another milestone, as “Birds of a Feather” became the most-streamed song on Spotify in 2024.

The song, included on her third album “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” took the streaming throne with 1,775,172,881 listens in 2024. She just slipped past Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Espresso” by nearly 650,000 streams, as Carpenter’s summer smash closed the year with 1,774,525,704 listens on the platform.

“Birds of a Feather” was yet another hit for Eilish following its release last May. The track, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, will be contending in numerous categories at the Grammy Awards next month including song of the year, record of the year and best pop solo performance.

Following the release of “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” the pop star spent the better part of the autumn on her headlining tour, which kicked off in Canada before making its way through the United States and culminating with five shows Inglewood, CA’s Kia Forum. At the tour finale, she got in the holiday spirit with a rendition of “O Holy Night,” telling the crowd, “I’m not really religious. I just love Christmas so much. I also grew up in a choir, so that’s just my schtick.” (Read our full concert review here.)

Finneas, her co-writer, producer and brother, told Variety last month that he wasn’t entirely sure that “Birds” would spread its wings quite like it inevitably did. “In some ways. I’m sort of extra-mistrustful when people tell me that they think something’s gonna be a big hit, because it feels like jinxing it — or because, usually, people say that about stuff that sounds like something else that already exists,” he said. “You know, nobody said that about ‘Bad Guy’ before it came out, and I think the reason nobody said that was that it really sounded new. Anyway, that being said, every time we played ‘Birds of a Feather’ for the label or our close friends, they would kind of freak out.”
