Black Eyed Peas has canceled its Las Vegas residency, scheduled to kick off on Feb. 15 at Planet Hollywood’s PH Live.
Online speculation that the residency was underselling has been circulating for months, though the group, which consists of Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap and Taboo, explained on social media that the cancelation was due to “current circumstances.”
“To our dearest Peabodies,” wrote the group on Instagram Stories, “It is with a heavy heart that, in light of current circumstances, our Las Vegas shows will not be moving forward as planned. Ticket providers will issue full refunds automatically. Stay tuned for updates on future performances by following us — we can’t wait to see you again.”
Ticketmaster shows that all performances for the “Black Eyed Peas: 3008—The Vegas Residency” have been canceled. The trio was set to play 15 shows at the venue, with three batches of dates spanning Feb. through May.
Variety has reached out to Black Eyed Peas’ representatives for further comment.
Black Eyed Peas initially announced the residency in Sept. 2024, claiming that it will elevate their forward-pushing aesthetic. “Our first residency in Las Vegas gives Black Eyed Peas the opportunity to do what we do best, to dream up something brand new and creative that pushes the boundaries of the live show experience,” said Will.i.am. “We draw inspiration from Disney rides, Las Vegas shows, concerts, AI and technology. We will reinvent how we perform, creating an interactive show, a journey to 3008 that is both a concert and play. I can’t wait for the world to see what we cook up in Las Vegas.”
The group most recently released its 2022 album “Elevation” that led into a tour the following year. Last May, they released “Tonight” with El Alfa featuring Becky G as part of the “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” soundtrack.
