‘Blippi’ Games Launch on Lingokids App

“CoComelon” producer Moonbug Entertainment has struck a deal with early learning company Lingokids to launch games featuring characters from Moonbug’s popular live-action preschool brand “Blippi.”

The “Blippi” franchise — which includes multiple shows across platforms — follows the titular character as he serves as preschool-aged kid’s “best friend” and “inspire them to learn through play with the fun, engaging content and experiences he creates,” including backyard science, the rainforest, a race track and even outer space.

The deal with Moonbug for “Blippi” games marks the first time Lingokids, which launched in 2015, has partnered to bring outside IP into its Lingokids app, which it says is used by more than 100 million families around the world.

According to Moonbug and Lingokids, “The new content will incorporate the company’s proven educational methodology with Moonbug’s engaging characters. These interactive experiences will focus on developing essential skills, including vocabulary, logic, creativity, and emotional intelligence for children ages 2-8.”

The new games featuring Blippi and friends are now live in the Lingokids app, with more content to launch in the coming months.

Owned by Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs’ Candle Media, Moonbug Entertainment boasts a lineup of popular preschool programming, most notably “Blippi” and “CoComelon,” that is available across more than 150 video platforms globally, including Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer and YouTube Kids.

“I’ve been a fan of Lingokids for a long time and was really excited to be able to bring the first ever third party IP to the app as they continue to expand,” Moonbug vice president of gaming and interactive Ed Barton said. “We know kids love Blippi and the curiosity he brings to everyday learning. It’s great seeing this come to life in the Lingokids app.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Moonbug Entertainment to bring their beloved characters to the Lingokids platform,” Lingokids CEO Cristobal Viedma said. “This collaboration allows us to expand our educational offerings and provide unique learning experiences that deeply resonate with children, furthering our mission to inspire and empower the next generation.”

Viedma says the team is in talks with Moonbug Entertainment, as well as other children’s media companies, for more opportunities to build Lingokids app games around existing popular IP.
