Brad Pitt narrated a moving TV ad during Fox’s pre-game show on Sunday ahead of the showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The TV ad championed the resilience of people after the Los Angeles fires and Hurricane Helene.
“By lifting others, that’s how we rise up. We, the people. Today we come together, not just these players and coaches or these teams and sides. We, all of us, the dreamers, the warriors, the builders and believers,” Pitt said. “Brought together to celebrate our greatest game, the game that teaches us what we can achieve when we gather together in a that most American of formations, the one most fundamental to every play call in every game, the huddle. Think about it. When we are bound by a common goal, we have reached heights, authored achievements, pushed progress, not alone but together, in ways that have lifted the world and one another.”
The ad also showed footage of people rebuilding in the aftermath of the L.A. fires and Hurricane Helene.
“The huddle is a metaphor for our history, for the power found in our shared purpose. It’s in the will to imagine flight and then soar skyward. They change the course of human history and the courage to fight and defeat the enemy,” Pitt added. “It’s in our collective spirit, not just in the highest times, but in the hardest, in the darkness and the trouble and the struggle.”
Pitt is stepping into the sports world for his next movie — but it won’t be on a football field. He’s starring in “F1,” the Formula One racing thriller made by “Top Gun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski that’s coming to theaters on June 27. Pitt stars in the movie as Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula One driver who suffered a terrible crash in his past. He’s convinced to come out of retirement and train a rookie prodigy for the Apex Grand Prix race.
In addition to Pitt, the “F1” cast includes Javier Bardem, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, Shea Wigham, Joseph Balderrama, Sarah Niles, Samson Kayo, Callie Cooke and Layne Harper. There will also be appearances by real life Formula One drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Max Verstappen, Sergio Pérez, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz Jr., Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Valtteri Bottas, Zhou Guanyu, Nico Hülkenberg, Kevin Magnussen, Daniel Ricciardo, Yuki Tsunoda, Logan Sargeant and Alexander Albon.
The Kansas City Chiefs are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles for the second time in three years, and they have a chance to become the first NFL team in history to win three Super Bowls in a row. Last year, they beat the San Francisco 49ers to become repeat NFL champions, and now the Eagles are looking for revenge after the Chiefs beat them in 2023. Sunday’s game marks the fifth Super Bowl appearance for the Chiefs in six years.
