Breeze Airways, the latest venture from serial airline entrepreneur David Neeleman, has posted its first ever full quarter profit.
The carrier, which focuses on connecting secondary cities point-to-point across the US, managed to achieve a 4% operational margin on revenues of $220 million during Q4 2024. Revenue for the full year 2024 was $680 million, which represents an increase of more than 78% over the preceding year.
This growth has occurred within a context of generalized growth. Breeze Airways carried over 4.2 million passengers, added 29 new destinations and increased its capacity, defined as available seat miles (ASMs), by 52% in 2024.
Breeze Airways launched in 2021 with a view to providing affordable and convenient air travel options in markets that had been traditionally overlooked and underserved by traditional network carriers.
The startup carrier ended 2024 with a fleet of 46 aircraft, of which 33 are Airbus A220-300 aircraft serving its core scheduled operations business, as well as ten Embraer E190 and three E195 aircraft which are used mostly for on-demand chartered flights. Breeze Airways has an additional 90 A220s on order, plus a further 30 options.
