Carbon monoxide USB alarm introduced — General Aviation News


RADIANT Technology has introduced the CO-USB Carbon Monoxide Alarm, which flashes bright red at 41 PPM.

According to company officials, it can be powered up from any USB port, even an Android or late-model iPhone (15 or later).

It also includes a serial port for OEM integration. It can be programmed to any alarm value and offers continuous output of CO value via the serial line.

Other features include:

Low power consumption (30 milliamperes)

Anti-interference from other gases

Temperature compensation; works across -10°C to 40°C

Digital output via serial data (0 to 1000ppm results @ 9600 baud) (via 5 pin port)

3 minute warmup to first accurate result

30 second response to first indication

30 second recovery after removal of CO gas

Red LED flashes at 41 PPM (any level may be set for OEM integration via 5 pin port)

Digital alarm signal output; provides a logic “1” (5 volts) whenever the red LED is blinking.

Priced at $24, it comes with a five-year warranty. First shipments are expected in late April 2025, company officials said, noting that price may change without notice subject to tariffs.
