Cass McCombs Announces New Album, Shares Video for New Song: Watch

Cass McCombs has announced his first solo studio album in three years: Interior Live Oak is out August 15 via Domino. The singer-songwriter’s follow-up to 2022’s Heartmind features the new single “Peace.” Check it out below.

After a streak of records with the record label Anti-, McCombs returned to his longtime home of Domino for Interior Live Oak and reunited with old collaborators from his catalog, like Matt Sweeney, Chris Cohen, and Papercuts’ Jason Quever. “Peace” is the second preview from the LP, too, following “Priestess.”

Last year, McCombs surprise-released the album Seed Cake on Leap Year, a collection of previously unreleased music that he recorded at Jason Quever’s apartment in San Francisco from 1999 and 2000 while he was living in Berkeley, California. Prior to that, he put out the collaborative effort Mr. Greg & Cass McCombs Sing and Play New Folk Songs for Children in 2023.
