Cebu Pacific ends 2024 with latest A321neo aircraft delivery

Cebu Pacific has ended the year on a high note, receiving its latest aircraft delivery, a 236-seater Airbus A321neo.

The aircraft touched down in Manila International Airport (MNL) on December 24, 2024, bringing the Filipino budget carrier’s commercial fleet total to 91.

Airbus NEOs are latest-generation aircraft, burning 15% less fuel per flight and producing less noise compared to the previous generation.

The reduction in fuel consumption leads to a corresponding reduction in aircraft carbon emissions.

“The arrival of this new aircraft reinforces our readiness to meet the rising travel demand and our commitment to enhancing connectivity for our passengers in 2025 and beyond,” Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer said in a statement.

On October 2, 2024, Cebu Pacific signed a landmark purchase agreement with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney for up to 152 A321neo aircraft, equipped with Pratt & Whitney GTF engines.

The acquisition is the largest in Philippine aviation history, valued at approximately PHP 1.4 trillion ($24 billion)  based on list prices.

Cebu Pacific currently operates a commercial fleet mix of 10 Airbus 330s, 40 Airbus 320s, 25 Airbus 321s, and 15 ATR turboprop aircraft.
