Day 1 interventions by AFRAA at the YD/SAATM Monitoring Body Meeting – AFRAA – African Airlines Association


 

AFRAA Secretariat Team made various interventions at the 15th Meeting of the YD/SAATM Monitoring Body taking place this week from 28 to 30 October, 2024 in Nairobi – Kenya.

The meeting is jointly organized by the African Union Commission (AUC) in collaboration with the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). The main objective of the meeting is to discuss progress update on the implementation of SAATM and the establishment of the YD/SAATM Dispute Settlement Mechanism (DSM) Executive Council.

AFRAA interventions on day 1 were made as follows:

High level summary of the roadmap and actions updates on the AFRAA-hosted Industry Sustainability Laboratory that took place in 2022: Presentation by Mr Raphael Kuuchi – Director Government legal & Industry Affairs.
Free Route Airspace (FRA) in Africa implementation status updates: Presentation by Mr Gaoussou Konate –Technical & Operations Advisor.
Airline Consolidation Action Plan updates: Presentation by Mr Abderahmane Berthé – Secretary General
