Docuseries ‘Hitler’s Treasure Hunters’ Sells Widely for Keshet Intl.

Keshet International has closed a raft of major deals on “Hitler’s Treasure Hunters,” a six-part unscripted series produced by Perpetual Entertainment which forms part of Keshet International’s showcase at the London TV Screenings on Feb. 26.

The docuseries was picked up by Hearst Networks EMEA in a pan-regional deal comprising Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, and sub-Saharan Africa; as well as by Warner Bros. Discovery in Spain and Andorra, and finally Polsat which bought free TV second window rights for Poland. Keshet International is in talks with other broadcast partners.

“Hitler’s Treasure Hunters” will be delivered to coincide with the 80th anniversary of Hitler’s death and the end of World War II this year. The docuseries tells the stories of the many treasures and religious relics sought out by the Nazi SS, including the Holy Grail and Thor’s hammer, in an effort to win Germany the war and prove Aryan supremacy.

Keshet International launched sales on the program at Mipcom and previously announced it had greenlit it at London Screenings last year..

It has also sold its first fully funded commission, “Catch Me If You Can,” a gripping true crime docuseries that delves into the chilling world of murderers who evade capture while taunting their victims’ families and law enforcers until they are finally brought to justice. Produced by Woodcut Media, “Catch Me If You Can” sold to TVNZ in New Zealand in a multi-title deal.

Both “Hitler’s Treasure Hunters” and “Catch Me If You Can” are part of Keshet International’s Greenlight: Factual & Formats commissioning initiative which the company’s Managing Director Kelly Wright described as a “collaborative response to the market needs.”

“For us, it’s a different way of getting fresh, new content on TV screens around the world, while also supporting TV producers during a difficult time. It is so rewarding to see ideas that started off as just a pitch to us and a roomful of buyers are now fully produced TV series that we are selling well on the open market,” Wright continued.
