Dominic Fike is returning for Season 3 of “Euphoria.”
While he was left off a list of new and returning cast members released by HBO on Friday, Variety can exclusively report that the “3 Nights” singer and actor will indeed reprise his role as Elliot in Sam Levinson’s hit high school drama. Fike is set to shoot a couple of scenes for the show next week, sources say.
HBO declined to comment.
Fike joined “Euphoria” in its second season, which premiered in January 2022. He played a guitar-slinging, drug-addicted teen who befriends Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer), wrapping them up in a messy love triangle and serving as an obstacle to Rue’s sobriety. Fike’s talents as a Grammy-nominated recording artist were highlighted in the Season 2 finale, as Elliot performs an original song on the acoustic guitar for Rue. Fike and Zendaya released a version of “Elliot’s Song” on music streaming services.
As production on Season 3 gets underway, HBO announced Friday that Grammy winning artist Rosalía, Super Bowl champ Marshawn Lynch and “A Different World” star Kadeem Hardison have joined the cast of “Euphoria,” alongside other fresh faces Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hébert and Anna Van Patten.
Most of the main cast is returning, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow. Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry have both been upped to series regulars. Colman Domingo is also returning as a guest star. Nika King, Austin Abrams and Algee Smith are missing from the cast list, as well as Storm Reid and Barbie Ferreira, who had each previously announced they were exiting the series.
Fike’s other acting credits include the films “Earth Mama” and “Little Death,” which stars David Schwimmer and debuted at last year’s Sundance Film Festival. On the music side, Fike recently released the short album “14 Minutes” and a more substantial record, “Sunburn,” in 2023. He has also written original songs for films, including “Mona Lisa” for “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” and “Hey Blondie” for the “Barbie” soundtrack.
