Emirates will be the first airline from the Middle East to offer daily non-stop flights between Dubai and Shenzhen starting in summer 2025, expanding its reach into mainland China.
In a press release published on March 3, 2025, the Dubai-based carrier stated that the new daily route will begin on July 1, 2025, with Shenzhen becoming the airline’s fourth destination in China. The destination will also become the first city in China to be served by the airline’s retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER.
“Our expansion into Shenzhen opens new doors for business and economic exchange between this technological powerhouse and global markets,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer.
Emirates became the first airline to connect the Middle East directly to mainland China in 2002 with flights from Dubai to Shanghai, starting a 20-year partnership between the UAE and China, which includes operations to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
The carrier said flight times to Shenzhen have been scheduled to enhance connection to major locations in Africa and the Middle East/GCC, such as Kenya, Egypt, South Africa and Saudi Arabia, as well as key European hubs in the UK, Italy and Spain, along with the airline’s main gateways in the US and South America.
Additionally, the airline will launch four weekly services to Da Nang, Vietnam, starting from June 2, 2025, and three weekly flights to Siem Reap, Cambodia, beginning June 3, 2025, with both cities connecting via Bangkok. Both services will be operated with the Emirates’ two-class Boeing 777-300ER.
The airline said its four weekly services to Da Nang via Bangkok make it the airline’s third gateway into Vietnam, after Hanoi and Ho Chih Minh City.
The airline added that its service to Siem Reap “is optimally timed” to offer leisure travelers connectivity via multiple daily operations from France, UK, Spain, Germany, Portugal and Russia.
With the addition of Shenzhen, Da Nang and Siem Reap, Emirates the airline said it will have the “largest and most diversified route network among any non-Asian airline in East Asia, offering 269 flights per week from Dubai to 24 points.”
