Enhanced connectivity and visa facilitation policies are critical to boost tourism sector’s growth.
Ms. Maureen Kahonge – AFRAA Senior Manager Business Development & Communications facilitated a Workshop on theme: “Bolstering tourism sector’s growth through enhanced connectivity and visa facilitation policies” at the 2nd UN Tourism Africa & Americas Summit. The event was held in Livingstone, Republic of Zambia on 08 April 2025. The initiative by UN Tourism was aimed to engage in constructive dialogues and collaboration sessions, opening up new horizons for mutual growth and sustainable development.
The workshop presented an interactive forum for participants to learn about the ongoing connectivity initiatives and visa policies that are driving tourism across Africa. Participants had the opportunity to share experiences and best practices and develop together a strategic roadmap for tourism sector growth, enhanced connectivity and visa facilitation as well as the sustainable growth of air transport and tourism. A strategic roadmap for tourism sector growth, enhanced connectivity and visa facilitation was drawn from the workshop and presented at Ministerial level during the Summit.
Participants comprised of Tourism Ministry officials from Africa and the Americas, high-level government officials and key private sector tourism stakeholders from both regions.
