Etihad receives sixth and latest Airbus A350 aircraft

Etihad Airways has taken delivery of its latest Airbus A340, adding the sixth aircraft of the type to its growing fleet.

The new aircraft arrived during the weekend of April 12-13, 2025, after a successful journey from Airbus’ headquarters in Toulouse, France.

The A350-1000 is one of Etihad’s youngest and most fuel-efficient aircraft. It is currently used to fly passengers traveling from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH) to:

Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD)

Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL)

Zurich’s Kloten International Airport (ZRH)

Mumbai International Airport (BOM)

Paris’ Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG)

Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT)

Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)

Etihad will begin operating the A350 to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport (ATL) by summer 2025, its newest and sixth gateway into North America.

Etihad said that the A350 is popular among its guests, with its business class cabin featuring privacy doors, seats that recline to a fully-flat bed, an 18.5-inch touch screen on every seat, and wireless charging ports.

Etihad’s A350 also has the Economy SMART SEAT, a more comfortable economy class experience with features like a unique headrest, adjustable back support, generous legroom, and recline. The seat also includes a 13-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth headset pairing, integrated headset and charging ports, and a personal device holder.

The A350 is renowned for its sustainability, and stands out as one of the most efficient widebody jets, with 25% lower CO2 emissions and a 50% smaller noise footprint compared to earlier-generation aircraft.
