Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, part of the world-leading hospitality group Accor, is delighted to announce its first property in Japan – Fairmont Tokyo – is set to open on July 1, 2025. Taking reservations from April 1, Fairmont Tokyo promises a vibrant social scene, first-class dining and spa, and expansive high-rise city and bay views from the heart of the Shibaura district, a historic gathering place dating back more than four centuries to the Edo period, building upon Fairmont’s legacy of sitting at the social epicenter of timeless destinations worldwide.
Boasting a prime central location for exploring the wonders of Japan’s capital city, Fairmont Tokyo sits just 13 minutes from Haneda Airport and six minutes from both the Tokyo and Shinagawa Stations. Visitors can delight in the tranquility of the Shibaura district with its many picturesque canals and lush gardens, experience iconic surrounding landmarks such as the majestic Zojoji Temple, or take advantage of the hotel’s seamless connectivity to Tokyo’s many attractions. The property itself showcases breathtaking views of both the serene Tokyo Bay and the glittering Tokyo metropolis, including the famed Tokyo Tower, from its elevated position on floors 35 through 43 of the ‘BLUE FRONT SHIBAURA’ South Tower.
Fairmont Tokyo brings to life Fairmont’s dynamic spirit, connecting people and places, across time and cultures, to celebrate every moment. The distinctive guest experience begins upon entering the 35th floor lobby, where visitors will be greeted by an abundance of lush greenery, seamlessly opening onto breathtaking outdoor terraces. The west-facing terrace features a relaxation pool and sundeck where guests can unwind and indulge all day followed by sunset cocktails with stunning views of Tokyo Tower. The east-facing terrace features an observation deck with seating area and fireplace overlooking the serene Tokyo Bay.
A collection of five restaurants and two bars will tempt visitors with bold flavors and artisanal cocktails. Venues include a brasserie serving wood-fired pizzas, meats and seafood; a lobby lounge which melds French and Japanese café culture; and artfully designed spaces serving traditional Japanese styles of cuisine, such as sushi and teppanyaki, reimagined, blending an authentic approach with modern influences. At Fairmont Tokyo, every experience celebrates culinary creativity.
Guests can expect top-class amenities and wellness offerings at the highly anticipated Fairmont Spa and Health Club on the 35th floor. Unique spa treatments inspired by the destination feature a blend of Fairmont’s signature oils and locally inspired products. Bathed in natural light, the gym is open 24 hours, and offers state-of-the-art Technogym, a comprehensive free weights section, and two studios. Guests can decompress in the 20-meter indoor infinity pool, lounge on the outdoor sundeck by the relaxation pool, or rejuvenate in the soothing saunas – all while enjoying uninterrupted views of the city skyline.
Upon opening, Fairmont Tokyo will offer 217 rooms ranging from 52 – 278 square meters, situated from the 36th to 42nd floors, each with breathtaking, unobstructed views through expansive floor-to-ceiling windows. Warm-hued sen wood (Japanese lightweight hardwood), quartzite stone, and refined brass accents foster an ambiance of timeless elegance throughout guest rooms. Elegantly crafted seating areas, inspired by the traditional Japanese ‘Engawa’, create a transitory space between the interior and exterior. Guest bathrooms enhance a calming sense of serenity with the use of natural stone textures alongside Fairmont guest favorite, Le Labo bath products.
Thoughtfully designed by internationally acclaimed BAR Studio, the hotel’s interiors blend the city’s elegant heritage with modern design, showcasing rich textures and subtle cues referencing traditional Japanese techniques such as weaving and ‘Kintsugi’ in the property’s art and textiles. The result beautifully encapsulates the vibrancy of the city, reflecting the serenity of Tokyo Bay, while paying homage to Japan’s rich artisanal heritage.
Fairmont Tokyo will offer an elevated experience with Fairmont’s exclusive hotel-within-a-hotel, Fairmont Gold. From pre-arrival communications to tailored on- and off-property experiences, the dedicated Fairmont Gold concierge team delivers a heightened level of care and customization. Special benefits include private check-in and lounge, distinctive style and design elements, and signature amenities such as complimentary breakfast, afternoon canapes and evening cocktails. The Fairmont Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 1,200 guests making it one of the largest in Tokyo. For more intimate events, The Sea on the 43rd floor features an open kitchen concept and 120-inch video screen, offering a unique setting for both meetings and special occasions.
