Embraer and Flexjet have inked a major deal for 182 executive aircraft plus 30 options with the related support services.
The exact breakdown of the order, announced on February 5, 2025, and is worth US$7 billion at catalogue prices, has not yet been confirmed, although it includes some Phenom 300E light jets as well as an unspecified quantity of the larger Praetor 500 and 600.
This deal strengthens the already close relationship between Embraer and the US fractional jet operator. Not only has FlexJet operated more than 150 Embraer jets since 2003, it has also been the first fleet operator to adopt several of the aircraft models produced by the Brazilian manufacturer, in particular the Legacy Executive in 2003, the Phenom 300 in 2010, the Legacy 450 in 2016 and the Praetor 500 and 600 in 2019.
In the press release announcing the order, Flexjet’s CEO, Michael Silvestro, also expresses some words of praise for the Praetor family of jets. The executive said this aircraft type, both in its 500 and 600 versions, had proven particularly popular among Flexjet’s European customers. This fact led the firm to first introduce it in its US fleet in 2023 and has also been a factor in adding more aircraft of this type across the two regions.
To put the meaning of this order in context, Flexjet is going to double its fleet size after all these jets are delivered. The order is also both the largest executive jet order ever placed by FlexJet and the largest single order received in its entire history by Embraer Executive Jets.
