flyadeal confirms order for 10 A330-900neo aircraft

Saudi low-cost carrier flyadeal confirmed an order for 10 Airbus A330-900neo aircraft on April 23, 2025. These will be the first widebody aircraft to be operated by flyadeal. Since its launch in 2017, the low-cost subsidiary of the Saudia Group has operated mostly Airbus A320 family aircraft, although it has also wet-leased A330 aircraft from other operators on occasion.

The deal, which was signed at a ceremony in Toulouse, France, adds to a previous order placed by the Saudia Group for 105 A320 family aircraft in May 2024. From that previous order, announced during the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 54 A321neo aircraft were slated to go to flyadeal.

Jeddah-based flyadeal has been steadily expanding its international footprint, not just in the Middle East, but also, particularly during the summer season, to other destinations in Africa and southeastern Europe.

With the long-anticipated arrival of the widebody A330-900neo aircraft flyadeal will be able to explore new markets further afield.

The low-cost carrier is expected to play its part in the ongoing drive to increase air passenger traffic in Saudi Arabia, complementing capacity increases announced by other Saudi airlines, such as Saudia, the newly created Riyadh Air, and private low-cost carrier flynas, which ordered 160 Airbus aircraft, including 30 A330s, in July 2024.
