‘Hacks’ Adds Season 4 Guest Stars Julianne Nicholson, Michaela Watkins

“Hacks” has added a handful of guest stars for its upcoming fourth season, including Julianne Nicholson (“Paradise,” “Mare of Easttown”) and Michaela Watkins (“Casual,” “The Dropout”).

Bresha Webb (“Run the World,” “Sisters”), Robby Hoffman (“Verified,” the “Too Far” podcast) and Eric Balfour (“The Offer,” “Six Feet Under”) also join Season 4 of Max’s Emmy-winning comedy series.

“Hacks” stars Jean Smart as Deborah Vance, a veteran comedian who hires millennial writer Ava (Hannah Einbinder) to help revitalize her career. At the end of Season 3, Deborah finally achieves the dream that had long ago been taken from her: to become the first woman to host a show on late night. In Season 4, “Tensions rise as Deborah and Ava endeavor to get their late night show off the ground and make history doing it.”

Also joining the cast are Danny Jolles, Gavin Matts, Grover Whitmore, III, Holmes, Jasmine Ashanti, Katy Sullivan, Matt Oberg and Sandy Honig, who will play writers on Deborah’s new late night show. Max promises “exciting surprise cameos” as well.

“Hacks” is created by Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky. The series is executive produced by Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment and Morgan Sackett. The studio is Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

The series has won nine Emmys, including for best comedy series. Smart has taken home the prize for best lead actress in a comedy for all three seasons so far.
