Researchers at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University are asking private pilots to share information about how often they fly.
Pilots are asked to complete a short anonymous survey on how many hours they fly each year, as well as their attitudes toward recurrent flight training.
Information gathered during the study will be analyzed for insights on proficiency that inform strategies to enhance safety, the researchers said, explaining that could reduce the general aviation fatal accident rate.
