The BAFTA Film Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday at London’s Royal Festival Hall. U.S. viewers can watch the red carpet and ceremony on BritBox, while U.K. viewers can find the program on BBC One and iPlayer.
The ceremony broadcast begins 7 p.m. local time and 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT. David Tennant of “Doctor Who” fame will host the awards for the second year.
“Conclave” and “Emilia Pérez” are the top film contenders this year, at 12 and 11 nominations, respectively. “The Brutalist” has nine nominations, while “Anora,” “Wicked” and “Dune: Part Two” have seven. “A Complete Unknown” and Irish-language film “Kneecap” earned six nominations.
The best film nominees are “Anora,” “The Brutalist,” “A Complete Unknown,” “Conclave” and “Emilia Perez.” The director category includes Sean Baker, Brady Corbet, Edward Berger, Denis Villeneuve, Jacques Audiard and Coralie Fargeat.
Leading actress nominees are Cynthia Erivo for “Wicked,” Karla Sofía Gascón for “Emilia Pérez,” Marianne Jean-Baptiste for “Hard Truths,” Mikey Madison for “Anora,” Demi Moore for “The Substance” and Saoirse Ronan for “The Outrun.” The leading actor nominees include Adrien Brody for “The Brutalist,” Timothée Chalamet for “A Complete Unknown,” Colman Domingo for “Sing Sing,” Ralph Fiennes for “Conclave,” Hugh Grant for “Heretic” and Sebastian Stan for “The Apprentice.”
Some snubs include Denzel Washington for “Gladiator II,” Nicole Kidman for “Babygirl” and the Luca Guadagnino films “Challengers” and “Queer.” Surprises include Grant’s lead actor nomination as well as Jeremy Strong’s supporting actor nod for “The Apprentice.”
The EE Rising Star nominees are Madison, Marisa Abela, Jharrel Jerome, David Jonsson and Nabhaan Rizwan.
