Former President Joe Biden has signed with CAA. President Biden was previously represented by CAA from 2017 to 2020, following his eight-year term as the 47th Vice President of the United States.
While a CAA client from 2017 to 2020, President Biden published his #1 New York Times bestselling memoir, “Promise Me, Dad,” launched the 42-date “American Promise” tour, which sold more than 85,000 tickets nationwide, and headlined numerous speaking engagements.
“President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,” said CAA co-chairman Richard Lovett. “His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.”
In his final presidential address on Jan. 15, Biden delivered a dire warning against the dangers of big tech and a social media landscape without a fact-checking. “Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights and freedoms, and a fair shot for everyone to get ahead,” he said.
Biden emphasized that “social media giving up on fact-checking” could pose a great danger to the freedom of information and the pursuit of truth in the U.S., adding that “the free press is crumbling” and giving way to an “avalanche of misinformation and disinformation enabling the abuse of power.”
He also called for an 18-year term limit for Supreme Court justices, which has remained a hot-button issue following the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022.
