Keshet International (KI) has secured two additional pre-sales for the upcoming “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World,” a three-part premium history docuseries co-developed with SandStone Global. Ahead of its debut at the London TV Screenings, the series has been pre-sold in Australia to publuc broadcaster SBS and in France to TF1’s Histoire TV channel, following Channel Five’s partnership in the U.K.
Kelly Wright, KI’s MD of Distribution, said of the show, “We are thrilled to have already boarded three broadcast partners prior to unveiling this awe-inspiring ancient history series at the London TV Screenings. ‘Seven Wonders of the Ancient World’ is the jewel in our factual crown this Spring, and we’re delighted that Professor Bettany Hughes will be joining us in person to help showcase this gem to international buyers at our screening event on Feb. 26.”
Produced by factual experts SandStone Global and presented by Professor Bettany Hughes, the series is based on her bestseller of the same name, which has been on The Times’ Bestseller List since October 2024 and has been translated into ten languages. The docuseries follows Hughes’ journey to explore the Seven Wonders, blending archaeological insights, new research and cutting-edge technology. Key sites such as the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Statue of Zeus are featured, with exclusive access to digital reconstructions and expert analysis.
The series, directed by David Lee and executive produced by Hughes, Dixi Stewart, and Ruth Sessions, was filmed across three continents in Turkey, Greece, and Egypt. The broadcast world premiere is scheduled for Channel 5 in Q2 2025.
Ahead of the show’s London TV Screenings debut, Professor Bettany Hughes shared, “With exclusive access to new digs and discoveries, this series takes us in the footsteps of ancient tourists, warriors, pilgrims, saints and emperors who stood in awe of these magnificent wonders, some of the greatest achievements ever made by human hands. After years of researching across three continents – through deserts, mountains, and on the high seas – my team and I are now able to reveal not only the monumental effort it took to build the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World but also what these incredible creations meant to the people of the past, and why they still resonate with us today.”
KI is also showcasing “Dinner with Gavin Rossdale” as part of its unscripted event on Feb. 26, 2025.
