Kevin Lacey, perhaps best known from Discovery Channel’s series “Airplane Repo,” died from cancer Feb. 14, 2025.
Lacey, who owned Texas Air Fleet in McKinney, Texas, also was one of the co-founders of the teen flying club Tango 31 Aero Clube, which he spelled with an extra e in tribute to his adventures in Brazil.
General Aviation News writer Joni M. Fisher had several opportunities to interview Kevin about the club and his book, “Fly It Like You Stole It.”
Tributes poured in for Kevin when his death was announced on Facebook, including “He was a great pilot and even a better person,” “a sad day…we lost a great aviator and a legend,” and “he was one of a kind. Fly high Kevin…”
You can find Kevin’s book wherever books are sold, including Amazon.
