Lady Gaga will be honored with the innovator award at the 12th annual iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 17 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Mariah Carey is also set to be crowned icon of the year for her decades-long career as singer-songwriter and producer.
Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen lead the nominations list up for 10 recognitions each, going head to head in the artist of the year and best collaboration (“Fortnight,” Swift featuring Post Malone) (“I Had Some Help,” Post Malone featuring Wallen) categories. Additionally, Swift will be honored for her blockbuster “Eras Tour” as its named “Tour of the Century.”
This year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards will also pay tribute to Los Angeles following the devastating wildfires affecting the entire community with donations going to Fireaidla.org. Contributions made to FireAid will be distributed under the advisement of the Annenberg Foundation, for short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters.
“Our iHeartRadio Music Awards show is not a competition, it’s a night where we honor the incredible artists and songs that fans loved all year long – and this year’s show will shine a light on the devastating tragedy that impacted Los Angeles and enable us to deliver on our commitment to the communities we serve,” said John Sykes, president of entertainment enterprises and Tom Poleman, chief programming officer of iHeartMedia. “Our long-standing partnership with FOX will not only bring this celebration into millions of television homes, it will also bring important awareness of how to help those in need.”
Artists receiving several nominations also include aespa, Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars, Chappell Roan, Charli xcx, Doja Cat and Feid, among many others. The event will be broadcasted on iHeartRadio stations nationwide and on the iHeartRadio app at 8 p.m. ET live on FOX.
