Hollywood’s biggest movie stars and studio executives kicked off April by making the annual pilgrimage to Las Vegas to showcase their most-anticipated films at CinemaCon. The lineup of talent at the trade show read like a list of Marvel’s Avengers — including Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Channing Tatum and, hopefully one day Mahershala Ali — though all of them were promoting movies that have nothing to do with superheroes. (Marvel did, however, trot out the “Thunderbolts,” while DC Studios launched new footage for “Superman.”)
On the TV front, the cast of “The Handmaid’s Tale” prepared to wrap up their dystopian series with an explosive final season, while “Government Cheese” star David Oyelowo and “Dying for Sex” leads Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate debuted their new shows.
It’s also a particularly starry season on Broadway: opening night of George Clooney’s “Good Night, and Good Luck” doubled as a chance to reunite the gang from “ER” — Julianna Margulies, Anthony Edwards and Noah Wyle — just swapping their scrubs for black tie.
Make sure to keep checking for the month’s best celebrity photos from Hollywood and beyond.
