Marcia Gay Harden to Guest Star in ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’


Marcia Gay Harden is the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Apple series “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.”

Variety has learned that Harden will guest star in the series, the cast of which already includes Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, and Thaddea Graham. Based on the Rufi Thorpe novel of the same name, “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” was picked up for eight episodes at Apple TV+ in February 2024.

Per the description of the novel’s plot, it focuses on Margo Millet (Fanning), the daughter of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and an ex-pro wrestler (Offerman). Now an unemployed single mother in her early 20s, Margo is struggling to make ends meet, leading her to launch an OnlyFans account. When her father reenters her life, she starts incorporating his lessons from the pro wrestling world into her OnlyFans work, leading to unexpected success.

Harden is no stranger to Apple audiences, as she has appeared across all three seasons of the streamer’s series “The Morning Show.” Her work on the show has earned her two Emmy nominations for best guest actress in a drama series. Most recently in television, she starred in the CBS dramedy “So Help Me Todd” for two seasons. Harden has also received Emmy nominations for “The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler” and for guest starring on “Law & Order: SVU.” She won the Academy Award for best supporting actress for her work in “Pollock” and was nominated in the same category for the film “Mystic River.”

She is repped by Independent Artist Group, Framework Entertainment, Schreck Rose, and The Initiative Group.

David E. Kelley is writing, executive producing, and showrunning “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.” Fanning, Kidman, and Pfeiffer will all executive produce in addition to starring. Brittany Kahan Ward and Dakota Fanning executive produce via the Fannings’ Lewellen Pictures. Per Saari of Kidman’s Blossom Films executive produces along with Matthew Tinker for David E. Kelley Productions. Thorpe and Eva Anderson are also executive producers. A24 is the studio.
