MasterClass is betting big on sports this summer with the launch of a new online series that promises to break down the strategies for smarter wagering.
Just in time for MLB season and playoff basketball and hockey, the course is the latest addition to MasterClass’ “Advanced Gaming Tactics” vertical, which already boasts videos about everything from game theory to poker.
The latest release is dubbed “Bet Smart: Top Sports Betting Strategies,” and the online course features 25 on-demand video lessons that details everything from the different types of wagers you can place (think live bets vs. prop bets vs. future bets), to how to find “hidden edges” to maximize your earnings. While the classes can’t guarantee a big payday, a course description says members will learn how to “analyze betting lines, identify and exploit edges, and use tools like ‘devigging’ calculators to find value and hidden opportunities,” while learning to “spot market inefficiencies and maximize returns.”
It’s not just experienced bettors who can benefit from the new class — the course also includes a couple of introductory videos that break down (and demystify) key betting terms, while also detailing practical ways to manage your bankroll. As with all MasterClass videos, you can choose to watch all the classes in order, or skip ahead to what you want to learn. The entire “Bet Smart” course runs just over an hour, meaning each “class” can be consumed in bite-sized 2-4 minute segments. And you can watch the videos on-demand at your own pace and timing, through the MasterClass site or on your TV, tablet or phone via the MasterClass app.
The new course is taught by six so-called “veteran insiders,” including Audacy’s BetQL Network host Nick Kostos, ESPN Sports Betting Analyst Joe Fortenbaugh and Joe Fortenbaugh and Unabated co-founders Captain Jack Andrews and Rufus Peabody and Gina Fiore and Rob Pizzola.
