In a major partnership that promises to redefine the concept of luxury and sport tourism in Santa Ponsa, Meliá and Summum have announced the opening of a new four-star superior hotel in this well-known coastal location in the southwest of Mallorca. This project represents the fourth collaboration between the two companies, consolidating their joint vision of providing exceptional experiences and elevating the quality of destinations.
The hotel, which will be managed by Summum Hotel Group under the luxury brand The Meliá Collection, is owned by Hotel Golf Santa Ponsa, belonging to the Nigorra group, and will be completely refurbished. Situated within the Santa Ponsa I golf course (established in 1977, PAR 72) – a renowned Mallorcan course that has hosted numerous international tournaments, including seven European championships – the new hotel is set to open in 2026. It will offer a serene and privileged environment, perfect for travellers seeking relaxation and wishing to combine their passion for golf with the natural beauty of Calviá, Mallorca. Architect Alejandro Palomino’s vision is embodied in a design that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape, integrating modern architectural elements with traditional Mediterranean touches.
The hotel will feature 88 rooms meticulously designed to provide maximum comfort and elegance. Additionally, guests will have access to a comprehensive range of amenities including a fine dining restaurant, a rooftop bar offering panoramic views, a cutting-edge spa, several swimming pools, and modern meeting rooms. Originally opened in 1977, the renovation and reopening of the hotel demonstrate an effort to modernize the tourism facilities in Santa Ponsa, aiming to enhance quality tourism and reduce seasonality in the area.
