Mirus reflects on 2024, shares insights into 2025Runway Girl

Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2024 was the biggest in Mirus’ history, and we were delighted to share the news that two of our seats, Hawk infinity, and our new Kestrel 6.9kg ultra lightweight economy seat, are now available for selection in the Airbus A320 Family BFE catalogue.

We’ve received huge interest from airlines, particularly in the LCC segment, for who we met over 100 of them at the show. Since then, we have been showcasing our demonstration seats all over the world to prospective customers, already making for an even bigger year in 2025.

Kestrel has already attracted industry attention due to its class-beating weight and fuel burn savings, levels of passenger living space, and its sleek design, but the most important factor is the Airbus offerability status which is usually the first thing airlines consider when selecting a seat for their aircraft. We’re already seeing results since the introduction of Mirus’ core economy range to the BFE catalogue.

AIX is key in developing Mirus’ new products as it’s an invaluable way to get direct feedback from the customers who will own and use our seats. We’ve improved the levels of comfort, living space, the number and type of features we offer for each seat and also reduced the weight of the seats to create the best passenger experience in class.

From a business perspective, since AIX we’ve continued our expansion into the APAC region with the appointment of Puva Silvarajoo, regional sales manager for Asia Pacific, based at our headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. Puva has already proved instrumental to realising our ambitious business goals and we’re excited to see how far she takes Mirus in 2025.

Looking ahead to what airlines will need most from seating solutions next year,  we imagine that there will be a continued push for lightweight, sustainable seating products. We will continually evolve our products to provide the best passenger experience with a lightweight robust seat for airline operators.

Higher densification of seats on an aircraft is also a continuing trend, especially for single aisle Airbus and A330 9-abreast. By ensuring our seats support these high-density layouts and offer the maximum living space and comfort we will continue to meet that demand.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes developing new products so that we can make some new product announcements at AIX 2025.
