Mission Resort + Club, a MMI Hotel Group property, is proud to unveil a sweeping collection of enhancements to elevate the guest experience at the historic Central Florida resort. These upgrades span beautifully refreshed guestrooms, a stylishly reimagined clubhouse restaurant, and refined touches inside The Spa at Mission Resort + Club.
The guestrooms and corridors at the resort have been thoughtfully redesigned in collaboration with leading design and architecture partners, including Interior Image Group (IIG), RAD Architecture, Hospitality Renovation Resources 3 (HRR3), and Monolith Commercial Group. Each room now features modern furnishings, beverage coolers, refreshed bathrooms, and a more sophisticated design palette that blends comfort and elegance. To honor the region’s rich history, designers sourced black-and-white archival photographs from Orange County Regional History Center and the Historical Society of Central Florida, thoughtfully weaving these moments throughout the project.
In addition to the guestrooms, Mission Resort + Club partnered with Central Florida-based design firm Humble Abode Interiors, led by principal designer Tiffany Whitley. To lend additional perspective to the project, Whitley engaged the consulting expertise of Denise Gunderson, a retired interior designer with a distinguished career. Their collaboration brought new life to the space now known as Grove House—formerly Nicker’s Clubhouse—honoring its storied past while reimagining it with a fresh, elevated take on the classic “19th Hole” experience for members and guests alike.
The Spa at Mission Resort + Club, also enhanced by the expert design of Humble Abode Interiors, delivers a fresh take on wellness for guests, members, and the public. Whitley and her team extended their refined aesthetic into the space, incorporating natural textures, soft greens, and modern furnishings to create a sophisticated retreat grounded in tranquility and inspired by the calming colors of nature.
These enhancements mark just the latest chapter in an ongoing revitalization led by owner-operator MMI Hotel Group, which completed a major irrigation project on the resort’s famed El Campeón golf course last year. With more improvements on the horizon, MMI’s long-term investment signals a lasting commitment to the Howey-in-the-Hills community and preserving its status as one of Central Florida’s most cherished and enduring resort destinations.
