Modern Aviation takes over FBO at KCLT — General Aviation News

Modern Aviation has won a bid to take over the FBO operations at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (KCLT) in North Carolina.

Following a competitive Request for Proposal issued by the city of Charlotte, Modern Aviation was selected as the winning bidder of a 20-year management services contract in January 2025. It replaces Wilson Air Center, which has been at Charlotte Douglas for the past 20 years.

Modern will commence managing the FBO operations at KCLT on June 30, 2025.

According to company officials, this will be Modern Aviation’s 18th FBO in the United States and its second in North Carolina.

Company officials added they plan to upgrade the FBO terminal, with initial plans for construction expected to begin in late 2025 or early 2026.

The company also plans to offer positions to all current FBO employees, officials said.
