Nancy Cartwright Launching Podcast About 'The Simpsons'

Nancy Cartwright Launching Podcast About ‘The Simpsons’

¡Ay, caramba! Nancy Cartwright, the iconic voice of Bart Simpson and other characters from “The Simpsons,” will pull back the curtain on the long-running animated hit show in her first podcast.

The voice actor is launching “Simpsons Declassified With Nancy Cartwright” in partnership with radio and podcast company Audacy. The audio and video podcast hails from Cartwright and Monica Gil-Rodriguez’s CRE84U Entertainment. Currently, there’s no premiere date set for the show.

“Simpsons Declassified” will be hosted by Cartwright — who in addition to Bart provides the voices of Ralph Wiggum, Nelson Muntz, Todd Flanders, Kearney Zzyzwicz, Database and Maggie Simpson — joined by Sofy Kurtz, producing partner at CRE84U, as Cartwright’s bestie-cohort on the show. Gil-Rodriguez will serve as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Leah Reis-Dennis, Audacy’s head of podcasts.

On “Simpsons Declassified,” Cartwright promises to share untold stories from the animated series over nearly four decades, including behind-the-scenes moments and personal anecdotes from inside the writers room and behind the mic. Each episode will explore the show’s most jaw-dropping predictions and long-running conspiracies, joined by guest stars, writers, directors and celebrities who reveal their favorite fan theories, hot takes and secrets from inside Springfield.

“We’re thrilled to finally announce the launch of ‘Simpsons Declassified’ — a four-year labor of love for the fans,” Cartwright and Gil-Rodriguez said in a statement provided to Variety. “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Leah Reis-Dennis and her incredible team at Audacy to bring this dream project to life.”

Fox recently renewed “The Simpsons” for four additional seasons, which will bring the Matt Groening-created show to a record-setting 40 seasons — and pad its lead as the longest-running scripted TV show in the U.S.

Cartwright teased the forthcoming podcast in social media posts Tuesday, with an image showing her standing at a classroom chalkboard (a la Bart in the recurring bit in “The Simpsons” opening credits) writing “I will not start a podcast” multiple times.

“Nancy Cartwright is the voice of a generation — her fearless, hilarious and larger-than-life performance as Bart Simpson has made her a cultural icon and we couldn’t be more delighted to partner with her and Monica Gil-Rodriguez,” Audacy’s Reis-Dennis said. “‘Simpsons Declassified’ will be the definitive podcast about this renowned show, thrilling and entertaining millions of Simpsons fans and offering an inside perspective as never heard before.”

CRE84U Entertainment was repped by Grayson Jernigan at WME for the podcast deal with Audacy.
