Nation of Language Sign to Sub Pop, Announce Tour, and Share New Video: Watch

Nation of Language have a new label home. The Brooklyn trio of Ian Richard Devaney, Aidan Noell, and Alex MacKay have signed to Sub Pop and shared their debut single for the renowned Seattle indie label. “Inept Apollo” is accompanied by a music video directed by John MacKay. Watch it below, and keep an eye out for a brief cameo from the Sub Pop logo.

“It is an homage to creative pursuits, and in some ways came to represent the feeling of living in a city as an artist,” Devaney said of MacKay’s clip in a press statement. “The video feels like walking through an old warehouse in Brooklyn, full of practice spaces and studios, each room occupied by artists striving to express and understand themselves and their place in the world.”

After supporting Death Cab for Cutie at the Seattle and Chicago stops of their Plans 20th Anniversary Tour, Nation of Language will embark on an extensive headlining tour of North America, the U.K., and Europe. The run of shows extends from August 21 through November 28 and includes a three-night stand at Warsaw in Brooklyn, New York. Scroll down to see all of the band’s announced 2025 dates.
