New book on building a kit airplane released — General Aviation News

A new book, “Building a Kit Airplane: Everything I Wish I Knew Before I Started,” is now available on Amazon.com.

One goal of the book is to help prospective kit airplane builders determine if they have what it takes to be successful before starting a kit airplane project, by answering questions like, Do I have the ability to build a kit airplane? How much space do I need? How much is it going to cost? How long will it take? What tools do I need? How do I balance project time with family life?, says author Elby Gray.

“Like every new kit aircraft builder, I learned a lot during the process of building a kit airplane,” he continues. “During the project a significant amount of time was devoted to learning about aircraft construction, painting, researching tools and aircraft components, as well as understanding the process for making the airplane airworthy.
