New executive director for Alaska Airmen’s Association named — General Aviation News

The Alaska Airmen’s Association has named Priscilla Ribic as its new executive director.

“With her wealth of experience and passion for aviation, Priscilla is an experienced leader that will guide our organization into an exciting new chapter,” association officials said.

A native of Spokane, Washington, Ribic has called Alaska home since 2007.

“While I didn’t grow up in aviation, I discovered my passion for flying later in life and have been fully immersed ever since,” she said. “I thrive on the challenge of continuously expanding my knowledge, always working toward new ratings and certifications.”

Ribic notes that with her husband, Larry, the couple own multiple aircraft, including a unique experimental tailwheel bush plane, the Gair-Plane Alaska Mule.

“We have flown back and forth between Alaska and the Lower 48 over a dozen times, embracing the adventure,” she said. “One of my favorite flying experiences so far has been in a seaplane. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to fly 27 different types of aircraft and earned my ATP license and Boeing 737-800 rating. I am also a CFII, sharing my passion for aviation through instruction.”

Beyond aviation, Ribic has a background in banking, project management, and leadership.

She served as the executive director for USA Powerlifting for nearly a decade, after competing as a member of the U.S. National Team for USA Powerlifting. She won multiple world championships, earning her first Open World title in 2004 and the final one in 2017, the year she retired. She is a member of the Hall of Fame for USA Powerlifting, North American Powerlifting, and the International Powerlifting Federation.

“As we continue to advocate for general aviation in Alaska, we are excited for the opportunities ahead with Priscilla at the helm,” association officials said. “We look forward to achieving great things for our members and the aviation community.
