Pantoufle’s story is set in Marsanne, a hilltop village in the beating heart of Drôme Provençale. Since 1905, the central square of this unspoiled haven has been proudly overlooked by a stunning building that features exposed stone walls, Roman roof tiles and a structure that combines Provençal tradition with bourgeois influences. Today, a new chapter is being written within these hundred-year-old walls with the unveiling of Pantoufle, an original hotel concept where lounging is neither something to be ashamed of nor an option but instead a proudly defended right! In the heart of a charming village, Pantoufle is a destination off the beaten path, far from the tumult of tourist hotspots… an unexpected haven of peace. A second home, a countryside vacation, a pied-à-terre to let go in. Like a ship casting off, set down your bags and take the time to really live, completely unapologetically. For now, all you have to do is slip on your quilted slippers and make yourself at home.

At Pantoufle, unbridled and joyful lounging is something of a must! Feel like wandering around in your slippers? We won’t judge you. Putting your phone on silent and lazing in bed? We salute you! Roaming the craggy backstreets or basking on a deckchair? You decide! Starting a book and not finishing it? That’s fine! There’s plenty of time to find out the ending. In this joyous, hybrid location that combines multiple universes and nurtures encounters, taking the weight off and relaxing is an art! Live at the local pace, get to know the people of Marsanne, meet Robert—an artistic soul and cherished local figure—and put the world to rights over a coffee or evening drinks… This is what Pantoufle was made for: a place to live authentically! Our great team of pantouflards have unique characters, open hearts and their feet on the ground (and their legs in dungarees), and are on hand to help you kick your shoes off and enjoy a bespoke stay in exactly your size! From the pool, to the sauna, massages, sport, reading, nature, cultural adventures, and delicious food, you are completely free to relax however you wish.

The hotel offers a host of activities to satisfy the needs of all loungers. On the programme: experience complete relaxation in the ground-floor massage and wellness centre, where letting go and regenerative inertia are the guiding theme; enjoy a dip in the pool in the shade of the 15th century stone wall or laze on a deckchair; turn the heat up and detox in the sauna; get a (little) sweat on in the sports centre with a spot of rowing, a couple of uppercuts to the punchbag or some yoga, slippers in the air; or purloin a book or one of the boardgames scattered throughout the hotel for some time to yourself or with friends and family!
Pantoufle is also the perfect base for off-site escapades exploring the treasures of Drôme Provençale. Take a deep breath of lavender, visit the château at Grignan, stroll along the wine trail, scour the truffle markets, take a little cycle around La Viarhôna or simply enjoy the sound of the cicadas… There are endless possibilities for soaking up the peaceful and charming local scenery.

Here, we give pride of place to seasonal, bistronomic cuisine packed with character and served in a setting all about honouring good company that knows how to make the most of everything life has to offer.
