Swiss watch manufacturer DuBois et fils has introduced a pilot watch that features a two-blade rotating propeller.
“The watch, which also has an automatic winding mechanism, can be wound by hand and the time can be set,” company officials said. “After use, the propeller snaps into its resting position.”
“Pilot’s watches have been a traditional product in the watch industry for more than 100 years, but never before has a manufacturer dared to use the crown to create an iconic symbol of aviation,” says Thomas Steinemann, CEO of DuBois et fils.
He adds that the watch is one that “quickly gets people talking.”
“And the best confirmation of our idea is the enthusiastic reactions of our customers when they turn the propeller for the first time,” he added.
The limited-edition watch is available in eight dial and case variants, with a production run of 22 watches. First deliveries of the watch will begin in March 2025.
The watch starts at 8,250 in Swiss francs or about $9,100 in U.S. dollars.
