New program helps homeschooled teens become pilots — General Aviation News

A Colorado mom, Richelle McKim, has started a program that gives homeschooled teenagers the ability to earn their private and commercial pilot’s certificates by the time they graduate from high school.

According to a report by CBS News Colorado, the program, which has partnered with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, it is the only homeschool program in the country where students can get enrollment credits with Embry-Riddle.

The program also gives students a $2,400 credit toward flight lessons at a flight school at Centennial Airport (KAPA) in Denver.
