Norse Atlantic launches LA-Athens transatlantic route

Norse Atlantic Airways has launched a new route between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Athens (ATH), Greece, expanding its transatlantic network.

The new service demonstrates the airline’s “commitment to offering new destinations for the US market”, the carrier announced in a press release on January 25, 2025.

“We expect the uptake to be positive as we offer this budget-friendly route, opening up more transatlantic options for our customers and the opportunity to explore the ancient city of Athens and rich history of Los Angeles,” said Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic Airways. “Our goal is to make travel accessible and affordable for everyone and this is another step in that mission and in our commitment to offer new destinations.”

The new route will begin on June 3, 2025, with flights scheduled four times a week, using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Norse Atlantic already offers low-cost flights from LAX to London, Paris, Rome, and now Athens.

In November 2024, the airline completed its second charter mission to Troll Airfield, one year after becoming the first airline to land a Boeing 787 Dreamliner on Antarctica’s blue ice runway.
