U.K. outfit Blue Finch Films has acquired worldwide sales rights to “Bury the Devil,” a one-shot supernatural horror-thriller that recently wrapped production at an isolated location in Canada. Blue Finch will open sales on the project at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.
The supernatural-tinged home invasion tale centers on a nurse who discovers her latest patient may be harboring dark secrets. The film was written by John Petrizzi and Brad Hodson, with veteran genre producers Philip Kalin-Hajdu (“The Sacrifice Game,” “Game of Death”) and Benoit Beaulieu (“Turbo Kid”) shepherding the project.
Director Adam O’Brien opted for an ambitious single-take approach to ratchet up the tension. “This film depicts the most harrowing 90 minutes of our protagonist’s life, and I felt that the most visceral way to really feel this was to do a single-shot film,” O’Brien said. “We are with her every step and mis-step she takes – through the unravelling of the mystery to the horror of her discovery. It’s a fun, twisty roller-coaster ride that puts a new spin on exorcisms.”
The film marks the latest project from indie shingle Delirium Pictures, with a targeted festival debut slated for late 2025.
The creative team previously collaborated on another 2025 horror offering titled “Mom,” starring Emily Hampshire (“Schitt’s Creek”), François Arnaud (“Marlowe”) and Christian Convery (“Cocaine Bear”). That film is set for a theatrical bow via Uncork’d Entertainment in February.
Blue Finch Films recently snagged worldwide sales rights (excluding Australia and New Zealand) to the buzzy animated feature “Lesbian Space Princess,” ahead of its world premiere in the Panorama section at the Berlin Film Festival. The company’s current slate also includes horror title “825 Forest Road” from the “Hell House LLC” creative team, Sitges winner “Zero” from Jean Luc Herbulot and Indonesian horror “The Draft!,” which played at Fantastic Fest.
